A while ago I won a Facebook competition and my prize was a limited edition EcoTools brush set. Yay me! I was so excited to start using it and to let you all know if it was good or not. So without further ado let’s get into it shall we?
I am not 100% sure if all the brushes that are in the set are available in our stores but the sponges are and that for me is the most important.
♥ Blending and Bronzing Brush
This is a duo fibre brush with synthetic bristles. I have tried to use this brush as a stippling brush but it was a complete fail as it left my face full of streaks and I had to go in with a different brush or sponge afterwords. The best use for this brush is to apply powders and bronzers. The size is also nice and big.
♥ Skin Perfecting Brush
This is one of my faves. It has a rounded edge and a slant. I use this brush to blend my contour because it fits nicely into the hollows of my cheeks.
♥ Round Shadow Brush
I really struggled with this brush. It’s a bit too big and firm to be used as a blending brush. I still do not reach for it that often. I guess it can be used to apply a popping highlight to bridge of my nose.
♥ Airbrush Concealer
At first I could not for the life of me figure out how to use this brush but I kept trying and figured out the perfect use for it. I use concealer on my eyelids instead of primer and I’ve been using this brush to blend the concealer into my lids. It works like a bomb.
♥ Detailer Brush
Another one of my favourites. This brush has so many uses. I use it to highlight the inner corners of my eyes, my brow bone and my cupids bow. This is also perfect for applying concealer on the lids to do a cut cease (or at least attempt to lol). This is a nifty little bugger.
♥ Duo Blending Sponges
Last but not least. The best of the bunch. The piece de resistance. I do not own any fancy sponges, no UBU or Real Techniques not to mention a genuine Beauty Blender. I’ve mainly used these no name cheap blenders. Trust me when I say that this EcoTools blender is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better. When wetting it swells to double its size and it’s SO FREAKING SOFT. The perfect bounce and it doesn’t soak up too much product. I’m just so in love with it. The smaller sponger however doesn’t swell up that much and is not as soft and bouncy. The great news is that these sponges can be found at Clicks. For both its R249. They also come in singles but I’m not 100% sure of the price. The sponges also come with a cute holder.
The only con about the blender is that when I washed it I saw some teeny tiny tears. My heart literally broke. For a while I stopped using it because I was too afraid that I might make it worse but I couldn’t resist for too long. I washed it again and I’m glad to say that there isn’t any new tears.
I haven’t seen all these brushes in store yet but I can that I have been seeing a lot of new releases from Ecotools popping up in Clicks.
I will definitely recommend that you get your hands on some. They look beautiful, they feel nice and light in the hand and best of all they are pocket friendly.
I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Do you think you’re gonna try some of these brushes?
Till Next Time
